What is dnsmasq and how it can be used?

dnsmasq is free software providing DNS caching, DHCP, router advertisement and network boot features. It will decrease CPU and network usage and avoid DNS resolution failure by providing the cache.
For EC-classic, the Amazon DNS server is located at 172.16.0.23 (private IP address) and you also can customize the DNS server specified in your DHCP options.

You can override the DNS server value in/etc/hdcp/dhclient.conf, in the case above, the DNS server has been customized to use Google DNS server. (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4)
