Strangler Pattern

The concept of the strangler pattern is usually used when you do migrate the monolithic application to a microservice architect.

Many companies have trouble migrating their legacy (business) mission-critical applications. The issue is the terribly high difficulty and complexity of the migration, and in most cases, the companies can not afford to have x days downtime for their mission-critical applications. (Imagine if you need to stop your entire services in the banking & logistics industry)

However, many organizations are under high pressure because of such as the regulatory mandatory requirement, out of support of the legacy system, and heightened pressure to use modern technologies.
