AI-powered coding assistants have emerged as game-changers. In GitHub, the analysis tells “41% of all code right now is AI generated” from the data in GitHub. Emad Mostaque, founder and CEO of Stability AI, has a provocative prediction as artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly transforms our world: “There will be no programmers in five years.”

From GitHub Copilot to Codeium, JetBrains AI Assistant, and more, each offers unique features tailored to different needs. In this blog, I will delve into the comparison among the popular AI assistant in the market with capabilities, chat features, and specialties.

GitHub Copilot

GitHub Copilot is priced at $10 per month or $100 per year, with free access for students and open-source maintainers.

  • It provides multi-line code generation and context-aware suggestions as the versatile tool for developers.
  • It was integrated with ChatGPT 3.5 but ChatGPT 4 now for more powerful functions.
  • Writing the comments ability is amazing compared to other solutions and there is supports for the user not to unintentionally steal someone else’s code.
  • Great interaction between chat and editor and provide much better exhaustive test cases.

Overall: It can be all-around solution in individual as well as enterprise, the best quality in the average of all functions (e.g., comment, chat, code generation.)
